COVID-19 Testing FAQ Banner

How Soon Will I Get My Results?
Rapid Testing- Results are available same day as test.

PCR Testing- Your specimen will be sent to one of our partner labs for processing. It generally takes between 5-7 days for results to be processed by the lab.

What’s The Difference Between the Rapid and PCR Test?
The Sofia rapid test is an antigen test that detects proteins from the virus; it is specifically looking for the presence of the SARS-CoV 2 antigen. An antigen is the part of an organism that causes the immune system to start a fight against the invading virus or bacteria. Antigen tests are very specific for the virus but are not as sensitive as molecular tests. This means that a positive result is highly accurate, but a negative result does not rule out infection. The Sofia rapid antigen test has received FDA Emergency Use Authorization.

How is the Test Performed?
PCR specimens are collected using a nasopharyngeal swab. Sofia rapid testing is done using a nasal swab, similar to how one would be tested for the flu.

Which Test Will I Receive?
The test you receive will be based upon your responses to our questionnaire. Our medical practitioners will be able to recommend the best method of testing for you based on your symptoms and the reason for testing.
